This moment is truly bittersweet for us. The café, with all its history, served as a primary location in the downtown core for customers to purchase great lunch options accompanied by a delightful treat. While we are saddened to close our doors, after months of deliberation the team ultimately decided that the café no longer fit into the long-term vision of the company and as a result refocusing on the right goals into the future would put us in a position where we’d be better suited.
We would like to reiterate that catering operations will continue as is and it is simply the café location that will be shutting down. In the upcoming months, our team will be working hard to bring Halifax a new lunch concept focused around the ideas of healthy eating as well as sustainability. The goal is to launch this new café in the last quarter of 2019. Keeping all this in mind, we wanted to take this time to thank all our customers for deciding to dine at Grafton St Cafe. We hope you will continue to support our humble Halifax run family business as we continue to look towards our growth in the future.
Please feel free to reach out to Ankur Gupta (firstname.lastname@example.org) directly with any questions or concerns in regards to this new change. For the duration of 2019, we will continue to honor all gift cards issues towards purchases made for any catering order. Cake order following July 21st will now be picked up from the Maritime Center at 1505 Barrington. From everyone on the team at Scanway and Grafton St. Café we bid you farewell for now but not forever.
