Ordering Policies – While we make every attempt to accommodate last minute orders, we request 48-hour notice for all catering orders. All of our food is prepared to order; therefore cancellations are only accepted if made by 4 pm the day before a scheduled weekday delivery and 24 hours in advance for weekend orders.
Please note:
- Changes or cancellations MUST be made directly with a Scanway staff member. No changes or cancellations on voice mail or via fax will be accepted.
- Pricing of our menus: In order to offer you the best possible price, our menus are designed to incorporate solely your food costs. Anything else you may require is added to your proposal depending on your specific requirements.
- Pricing does include disposable dishes, if appropriate.
- Please add $3.00 and up per person for china,glassware, silverware and linen napkins, depending upon the complexity of the setting.
- Pricing does not include sales tax (15%).
- Pricing does not include a delivery service charge.
- Please add 16% gratuity when servers are requested.
- Due to fluctuation of food costs, all prices are subject to change.
- Delivery Service-Scanway is pleased to offer delivery service to our clients. There is a delivery charge starting at $20.00 for orders within central Halifax. If applicable, there is a $10.00 pickup fee for orders which use our equipment.
- Depending upon the distance traveled to your event location, transportation fees may apply to events held outside of the Halifax Regional Municipality.
- Professional Staff-Staffing can be provided for your Scanway-catered event upon request, or by the recommendation of our Catering Manager.
- Servers are available at a rate of $15.00 per hour, per server with a 3-hour minimum.
- Bartenders are available at a rate of $15.00 per hour, per bartender with a 3-hour minimum.
- Chefs are required for all food stations, plated dinners and barbeques and upon request at a rate of $20.00 per hour, per chef with a 3-hour minimum.
- Payment-All deliveries require a form of pre-payment. We accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Diners. Pre-approved direct billing is also available for corporate clients.
Corporate events: If you would like to establish a corporate charge account, we would be happy to set one up for you with a corporate credit card guarantee. Payment terms for corporate billing are net 30 days. We may request an advance deposit for large events. (see terms and conditions)
Private events: Payment is expected at/or before the time of delivery, with cash, personal check or credit card. For large orders, we require an advance deposit.
Terms and conditions-A deposit of $500 is due upon confirmation of booking for larger events. Payment of 50% is required 30 days prior to event and the balance is due 72 hours prior to the event. A $500 cancellation fee will be incurred for any cancellation within 7 days of event. All food and beverage is subject to a 16% service charge if staffing is required.
Minimum guaranteed attendance must be received within 48 hours of event. If attendance falls below the guaranteed number, the client will be charged for the guaranteed number.
