Scanway Catering was born in Unni Simensen’s kitchen in 1981. In the beginning, Unni catered small affairs and created decadent desserts for local restaurants in Halifax.

Soon she would become one of Halifax’s most respected restaurateurs, opening several restaurants over the next 30 years. She would also change the face of catering in Halifax forever by introducing a new understated elegance and European flair to the catering scene, drawn from her native Norwegian roots. Mother and son team, Unni and Geir, with the help of a talented group of professional chefs and catering staff, have positioned Scanway as Halifax’s premiere catering company.
